Spirit Ether is a digital moving-image work that constructs a speculative metropolis shaped by the aesthetics, desires, and symbolic systems of contemporary capitalism. Through an immersive visual environment, the work explores how reality is increasingly experienced through images, spectacle, and technological mediation.

Rather than presenting capitalism solely as an economic system, Spirit Ether examines it as a cultural and psychological force that reorganises perception, desire, and everyday life. Monumental architecture, luminous landscapes, and digitally constructed environments merge into a fictional world where prosperity appears limitless while experiences of isolation, longing, and uncertainty quietly persist.

Drawing on ideas surrounding consumer culture, the society of the spectacle, and simulation, the work transforms these concepts into a speculative visual cosmology. Endless reproduction, shifting scales, and impossible spaces dissolve the boundaries between the real and the virtual, inviting viewers to inhabit a landscape where symbols increasingly replace direct experience.

Rather than offering a fixed critique, Spirit Ether creates an ambiguous environment in which fascination and discomfort coexist. Capital becomes both a material system and an invisible spiritual force—an ether that quietly shapes imagination, aspiration, and the ways contemporary subjects perceive themselves and the world around them.
